chronOS® Bone Graft Substitute

Division: Trauma
Category: Biomaterials

chronOS® bone graft substitute (BGS) is a synthetic β-tricalcium phosphate bone void filler which is radiopaque, resorbable and osteoconductive.

Indications for Use

  • Intended for use as a bone void filler for voids or gaps that are not instrinsic to the stability of the bony structure.
  • Indicated for use in the treatment of bony defects created surgically or through traumatic injury.
  • Indicated to be gently packed or placed into bony voids or gaps of the skeletal system (i.e., the extremities, spine, and pelvis) and may be combined with autogenous blood and/or bone marrow.

Following placement into the bony void, chronOS resorbs and is replaced with bone during the healing process.

Features & Benefits

chronOS® Bone Graft Substitute contains calcium and phosphorus, two of the main mineral constituents of bone. During the healing process, it is resorbed and replaced by bone between 6 – 18 months.
