The MILAGRO ADVANCE Interference Screw dramatically improves ease of use compared to traditional interference screws.  The unique thread design offers exceptional bone engagement, fast insertion and excellent fixation strength. MILAGRO ADVANCE Screws are also comprised of, BIOCRYL® RAPIDE® Biocomposite Material, a second generation Biocomposite material formed by combining osteoconductive β-TriCalcium Phosphate and a faster absorbing Polylactide co-glycolide (PLGA) copolymer.  A Human CT Imaging study of ACL reconstructions has shown that BIOCRYL RAPIDE Material absorbs and allows for ossification of the implant site in as little as 3 years.1,2,3,4

Indications for Use

The MILAGRO ADVANCE Interference Screws are indicated for attachment of soft tissue grafts or bone-tendon-bone grafts to the tibia and/or femur during cruciate ligament reconstruction procedures.

Additionally, the 7, 8 and 9 mm x 23 mm screws are indicated for: medial and lateral collateral ligament repair of the knee, proximal bicep tenodesis in the shoulder and distal bicep tenodesis in the elbow.

BioComposite comprised of 70% PLGA and 30% β-TCP Faster absorbing Second Generation Co-Polymer of Poly- L-Lactic Acid and Poly-Glycolic Acid (PLGA) plus Osteoconductive β-TriCalcium Phosphate (β-TCP).³
  Pre-Clinical testing has shown that BIOCYL RAPIDE Material absorbs over time, followed by boney in-growth at the implant site.²
  BIOCRYL RAPIDE Material has been shown to promote bony ingrowth at the implant site rather than leave metallic or plastic components implanted long term.2,3,4
Micro Particle Dispersion (MPD)Technology MPD is a proprietary manufacturing process that ensures a homogenous blend of β-TCP and PLGA particles. The uniform blend of these materials offers consistent strength properties and ensures osteoconductive β-TCP particles are in contact with bone.
