Acromioclavicular-coracoclavicular (AC-CC) Reconstruction

Patients with pain, weakness and scapula dyskinesia due to an Acromioclavicular joint disruption may require AC-CC Ligament reconstruction. A graft and 12mm long MILAGRO® BR Biocomposite Interference Screws offer an ideal solution for acromioclavicular-coracoclavicular ligament reconstruction. CHIA PERCPASSER® and ORTHOCORD® High Strength Orthopaedic Suture facilitate graft passage around the coracoid and through the bone tunnels. ORTHOCORD Suture can also be used to reinforce the graft or used laterally to suture the remaining graft over the AC joint. The small diameter MILAGRO BR screws with their tapered tip enable exceptional bone engagement and graft fixation. The 12mm length provides an appropriate level of bone engagement for the relatively thin clavicle bone without excessive protrusion superiorly or inferiorly. The 5 and 6mm diameter screws also reduce the incidence of stress risers in the clavicle, which would be present with larger diameter screws. In addition, MILAGRO BR Screws are composed of BIOCRYL® RAPIDE® Biocomposite Material, which has been proven to absorb and promote bone formation at the implant site.1,2
