Distraction Osteogenesis

Distraction Osteogenesis is the process by which bone is lengthened gradually by slowly pulling it apart. New bone then fills the cap created. Distraction Osteogenesis has been used since the mid 1990s to treat facial deformities and asymmetries. DePuy Synthes CMF offers a variety of distractors used to lengthen bone to correct problems resulting from congential defects, syndromes, or acute trauma.
