DEPUY SYNTHES COMPANIES ACQUIRES OLIVE MEDICAL CORPORATION

Raynham, Mass. (February 10, 2015) – Today DePuy Synthes Companies announced that it has acquired Olive Medical Corporation, a Utah-based privately held provider of high definition (HD) visualization systems for minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

DEPUY SYNTHES SPINE ANNOUNCES EXPANDED INDICATION FOR SYNAPSE™ OCCIPITAL-CERVICAL-THORACIC (OCT) SYSTEM

RAYNHAM, MA – Jan. 28, 2015 – DePuy Synthes Spine* today announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its SYNAPSE™ Occipital-Cervical-Thoracic (OCT) System with posterior cervical screws, the first time cervical screws have been indicated for use with a screw-rod posterior fixation system. Previously, screw placement in this system was limited to use for fixation in the thoracic spine (T1-T3) and occiput only. DePuy Synthes Spine is a part of the DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson.

NEW NATIONAL SURVEY REVEALS THE SURPRISING OVERALL LIFE IMPACT OF JOINT PAIN – IT’S MORE THAN PHYSICAL

While many people realize joint pain that results from osteoarthritis (OA) affects physical health, a recent online survey conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of DePuy Synthes Companies found that joint pain also significantly impacts other aspects of health – how positive people feel and how focused and engaged they are in their lives and in the lives of others. The good news is that severe OA is treatable. In fact, 90 percent of survey respondents who have had knee and/or hip joint replacement agreed that their lives changed for the better after joint replacement surgery.

RAYNHAM, MA – Dec. 4, 2014 - DePuy Synthes Spine* today announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market the VEPTR®/VEPTR II™ Vertical Expandable Prosthetic Titanium Rib Devices for the treatment of Thoracic Insufficiency Syndrome (TIS), a rare congenital condition where severe deformities of the chest, spine or ribs impair breathing and lung growth in children. DePuy Synthes Spine is a part of the DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson.

DEPUY SYNTHES COMPANIES INTRODUCES VIVIGEN™ CELLULAR BONE MATRIX, NEW CELLULAR ALLOGRAFT FOR SPINAL FUSION

SAN FRANCISCO – Nov. 12, 2014 – DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson, in collaboration with LifeNet Health®, today announced the introduction of ViviGen™ Cellular Bone Matrix*, a differentiated cellular allograft for the repair or reconstruction of musculoskeletal defects. The announcement was made by DePuy Synthes Spine at the North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting.
